Department of Chemistry was started in the academic year 1980-81 with an initial sanctioned strength of 12 students, subsequently enhanced to 16 and from the Academic year 2010-11, it has been enhanced to 20 to meet the increasing demand for the course.

The Staff and Students effectively utilize software packages like Chem Sketch, MDL ISIS Draw and Chem Draw for drawing and visualizing molecules in three dimensions as well. The products of this Department are well placed in the fields of R&D Industry as well as in Academic positions. Some of them have been University Examination toppers and secured Gold medals.

Departmental Activities

The department organizes seminars and quiz competitions for all the three year students during the academic year, along with regular performance assessment tests and assignments. The faculty members conduct regular counseling sessions for the students with regard to their career prospects.
